Ramp it UP! (or fall)

Hypothesis

I hypothesis is that the marble will roll further because it has more weight and depends on the height of the ramp.

Steps

Get something long like a one meter stick.

Then you get a ping pong ball and a marble and roll the down the ramp.

then it goes by it’s self.

And let go. Now your experiment is done!

Results

Rolls Marble Ping Pong Ball
1 15 21
2 17 19.3
3 13 20.1
Average 15 20.1

Conclusion

My hypothesis was incorrect and the ping pong ball went further but we went inside to do the test and our marble slipped through the little gap under a door and got stuck until the next day our teacher got it, he said he saw another ball too. The ping pong ball went further and i think it went further because the wind was pretty strong and pushed it a little bit.

Goodbye, thank you for your time. I hope you have a good day!

Paper Plane Experiment

Hypothesis (What I think will happen)

I think that the small plane will fly further because the way that you throw it

Background

Fairness is something that can make you have trust in scientists and other people to be equal

The first paper plane was made around 200 years ago.

The longest distance ever flown by a paper plane was 88.1 metres.

There are four forces that act on the paper plane when it is flying.

  • Thrust, how fast it is pushed
  • Lift, how much wing area can be pushed up
  • Gravity, pulls the plane down
  • Drag, slows the plane down

This video shows some information about how paper planes fly. I thought that it does a great job explaining how to make a great paper plane.

Equipment

  • A4 paper
  • A5 paper
  • Chalk
  • Metre stick

Steps

First start off with blank paper.

Then fold the paper in half.

Then unfold the paper.

Then make triangles.

Then make slightly deformed triangles.

Fold it in half

.

Fold the top parts.

Unfold the them to make them straight.

Now your finished!

Results(what we found out)

The plane was pretty good but my hypothesis was wrong the big plane went further.

The experiment was fun by it’s self but the room was to loud and it was annoying.

Conclusion

My plane went pretty far but it didn’t go the furthest in the class, this experiment was really fun and peoples planes kept hitting everyone and it was fun.
